When to stop testing?

Although It's difficult to say when to stop testing, still some guidelines are:-

  • Deadlines reach (Dispatch time of the project)
  • Test cases completed with reasonable percentage passed
  • Test budget depleted
  • Coverage of code/functionality/requirements reaches a specified point
  • Bug rate falls below a certain level, no new high severity bug is there
  • Beta or alpha testing period ends

Would like to add few more points

1) When estimated efforts are over
2) All types of planned testing is over - regression, integration, functional and non functional
3) all stakeholders accepts that there is low rick of stopping the testing
4) Check Market demand
